Can I extract to a lossless format like FLAC or WAV?
Yes, but most video soundtracks are already lossy (AAC), so exporting to FLAC or WAV won't add quality — it just repackages the same audio in a bigger file. Pick lossless only if the source track is lossless.
Does this work on any video, including online ones?
Any file you have locally with an audio track. It doesn't pull from URLs or streaming sites, and DRM-protected videos can't be converted — bring the file itself.
Does extracting the audio delete or mute the original video?
No. This creates a brand-new audio file and leaves your source video completely untouched. If what you actually want is the video with its sound removed, use the mute-video tool instead — extracting only copies the audio out, it never changes the original.
Is there a file-size or length limit since nothing gets uploaded?
There's no server-side cap, because the whole job runs in your browser's own memory. That memory is the real limit: a short clip is near-instant, but a long 4K recording can be slow or run out of RAM, especially on phones, so extracting big files on a laptop or desktop is more reliable.
