Does this work on any video?
Any file you have locally with an audio track. It doesn't download from URLs — bring the file itself.
Is quality lost?
The audio is re-encoded to MP3; at VBR high the difference from the source track is negligible.
Why is the MP3 so much smaller than the original MP4?
Most of an MP4's size is the video track — the actual picture frames. Extracting to MP3 throws that away entirely and keeps only the compressed audio stream, so a clip that was several hundred megabytes on disk often ends up as a file just a few megabytes in size.
Can I convert MP4 to MP3 on an iPhone or Android phone?
Yes. The conversion runs as code inside the browser tab rather than as an installed app, so it works in mobile Safari and Chrome the same way it does on a desktop. Very long or high-resolution files will decode more slowly on a phone, since the work uses your device's own memory and processor.
Does converting change or delete my original video?
